A&R "Signle"

So, if you don't know anything about Alligators and Republicans you probably don't know that Keith is down in Horsham, going to Temple and doing this Scrap Transistor shit, Colby is in PA's asshole Scranton doing god knows what, and Hayes is in Connecticut learning how to become an activist. Because of these factors there is not a lot of practice time and it is really hard to write and record songs. BUT! Keith wrote a song and recorded it so he wouldn't forget it and Colby wrote a song and got it recorded before he went to a wedding. Without further of due...

Megan's Law

Megan's Law is Keswick's favorite bastard punk rock band who, seriously, came out of no where. They are Kevin (guitar/vox), Jack (bass/vox), and Alex (drums). Based out of Willow Grove, they make the trek to Keswick every Wednesday night to play Punk Rock Girl for at least 15 mins. Basically the only thing they say on myspace is that they are looking for shows to play, shows to play, they want to play shows. So you know, check out their myspace and get them to play some shows. (special note- Jack composed and sings the song with the longggg ass title, and during the session they played 1234 but all of it wasn't recorded so its not on there)

Fan Boyyyy

Y'all know Sean Brown, well he goes by Fan Boy and this is his demo!! He describes himself as-

"Another cultured Caucasian youth who croons into his guitar about his shitty love life. Born and raised in good old Glenside, I try to keep up with the tried and true tradition of drinking bleach, breaking mailboxes, and then writing songs about it."

Badass

Brian Wastle EP

If you actually go to the Keswick Coffee House you know Brian Wastle, if not you NEED to know Brian Wastle. This is an EP that he recently recorded on his own. Brian is from Roslyn, PA and plays at Keswick open mic just about every week and he also plays at The Fig in Jenkintown on Tuesdays. He says:

"Write me for music, come to a show, let's collaborate. it'll be totally sweet."

Ardmore Assault

Shit! A really great hardcore punk band from, uh well, ARDMORE! part of the West of West Philly punk scene. They have played around the Philly scene and are Cassidy (drums), Frank (bass on recordings now moving to Ireland), Jake (vocals), Pierson (Guitar), Andy (bass). "Smash your trends was recored at Buddha Zen Studio Sept 2008 and the rest of the demo was recorded in Cassidy's attic August 2009.

Lawl Storm

MTEAL!/\/\374L!METAL!

I think that Lawl Storm is a metal band. They are a Hatoboro-Horsham based band Mike (Guitar/Screamies), Dave (Guitar/Growlies), Mat (Bass), and Kevin (Drums). Probably the darkest and most brutal band on the Scrap Transistor site right now. They did these brutal recordings themselves in the summer of '06. Obey your noodly master!

More A & R!?!?!

Yeah, of course we have more Alligators and Republicans. The first songs were recorded in Colby's living room on Kevin's Mac, supposedly we don't have anything to record on. Oh, and Kevin Makara was there, and he supposedly has lost a toy too? Anyway, the last three or so songs are songs Keith recorded just for the hell of it and to remember how to play them. Also, about these songs, you probably never heard A&R play shit like "take me out to the ball game," "two weeks of thinking," and "happy in my spine." Pic credit=Joe Sawa!

Very Magic

This is an amazing punk/rock or whatever you want to call them kind of band. Very Magic is Matt (guitar), Matt (drums), and Mike (bass). As well as playing with Bomb Threat at Keswick open mic, these three also bring their guitars and drums to rock out. This session was recorded at the Keswick Coffee House at a special performance right before they went on their first tour, which took them to the Carolinas, Florida and beyond. Unfortunately for you the quality of this recording is horrible because it was recorded with a speaker from the 70's, sucks for you.

Very Magic? - LIVE! at the Keswick Coffee House

* So I don't have any of the song titles for this album, Help?

Bomb Threat!

Bomb Threat is a "collective" band who is a staple part of the Keswick Coffee House's open mic night. Some members include Matt, Matt and Mike (Very Magic), Kyle (Hypes), Mike and Sean (Still Lit), Joe Sawa, Kerri (Scrap Pics), Lauren (Scrap Art), Theresa, and YOU! They draw their influence from bands like Against Me! and from a dislike of police, love of friends and their affair with Henry. The Bomb Threat! demo was recorded by...on...

Early Hypes

So, in this .zip file we have some very early Hypes live recordings done at Dance to the Music on Dec. 31st 2004. This is back before Kyle had even heard of the Hypes and for some reason Keith was not able to play that show so the line-up was Mike, Kevin, Eric and Kevin Johnson (as Keith's replacement). Friend of the band Joe "Jowe" Moore recorded the session on his MP3 player which he just held in his hoodie pocket.

Also! The funniest thing that is left over from the Hypes days is also included in this download. At a show in February 2005 at the Hatboro YMCA someone, presumably Jowe, video taped the performance. So get ready to laugh your ass of at long haired Mike, Kevin, Eric and Keith as you never seen them before. Not sure what the song titles are, Blitzkrieg Bop is definitely in there and probably some others off the Live recording.

Thanks again to Joe Sawa for the art.
